It was so beautiful and peaceful and calm there this morning. The lowest tide I've ever seen out there too which made running across the uneven rocks and sand from Merewether Ocean Baths to get to the reserve none too wild or daunting today (a nice change after the last few solo visits there, eek...). (Disclaimer: these photos are not from this morning as I was too busy chatting and didn't take any pics, but here are some from a few weeks back and show stunning Glenrock / Burwood beach none the less, ahhh, how about the serenity.)
So, no more 35km long runs for a while, less of the 4:30am starts, and I suppose I should start practising how to carry all those mandatory bits of equipment that I've finally gone and acquired.
I'm so excited for this event. Just don't quite know where the year has gone to so far, what with new adventures abounding (both professionally and personally). That old adage of time flying has never rung more true....
All the best to everyone running UTA in a fortnight ish!! All your amazing hard work and training will pay off and we will have an absolute ball! (There is talk of a well-laden buffet table at km 28 too. Just saying....) Until then it's taper and turmeric time!! :) :)
